Directions:
Cover and back pieces.
1. Cut 2 pieces from the heavy card stock. 3-1/2 x 5. Round the corners on one side.
2. Take Distress Ink and pat at an angle one way, change direction and do the same another way. (Direct to paper technique).
3. Repeat step 2 and do the same procedure to back of both panels.
4. Using coordinating Distress Ink Pads and Dusters, dab ink onto both sides until desired look is achieved.
5. Score both pieces-1/2” from edge that is not rounded at the corners.
6. Cut 1 piece from heavy cardstock. Approximately 3 x 4-1/4
7. Stamp with Magical Dreamer word stamp around top, let dry.
8. Cut out around the words at the top and create 4 scallops along the bottom edge. Edge with coordinating color. Lay aside.
Distressing tags for inside the book.
1. Using 4-3/4 x 2-3/8 tags, crumple tag up and spread back out, rub a Distress Ink pad directly onto both sides of the tag. (Direct to paper technique)
2. Spray inked tag with water on the front and back. Let dry or iron it with Craft Iron.
Optional: Spray Glitz spray on some of the tags, and let air dry. (Do not use Craft Iron to dry them)
3. Score all tags -1/2” from the end that is not notched at the corners.
Decorating tags
Tag 1 - Aiden Triplets
1. Stamp Aiden 3 times on cream card stock, color with markers and cut out.
2. Stamp flower from Michael stamp 2 times on tag upper and lower sides.
3. Using dimensionals or glue dots to place Aiden cutouts in a 45 degree line from top to bottom.
4. Cut silk leaves from strand and glue with E-6000, behind each Aiden cutout.
5. Write in saying.
Tag 2 - Believe
1. Take small piece of aged cream text stock and tear a long corner to fit tag. Glue using Glue Stick, onto tag in upper left corner.
2. Use believe ephemera in center.
3. Using masks on the ephemera, stamp Frog Prince Mini in upper left corner. Use the rose on the same stamp and place around outside of ephemera on the cream corner piece.
Tag 3 - Got Wings
1. Stamp Got Wings at an angle in center of tag.
2. Place self sticking flowers ephemera in a 45 degree angle above and below saying.
3. Stamp Floral Butterfly above and below along edge of tag. (They will run off of the page. Color with markers)
Tag 4 - Windows
1. Using the Smaller Tag Punch- Punch out smaller tag through 2 tags at same place.(Lay these 2 pieces aside for later)
2. Take 1 piece of Acetate and stamp Georgio. Cut out where he shows through smaller tag window. Using E-6000 glue to front of 1 tag
3. Now get 2nd piece of Acetate and glue with E-6000, over 1st-stamped Acetate piece.
4. Take beaded fringe and glue in place with E-6000, along lower edge of tag. (Do not let top ribbon portion show below tag.)
5. With E-600 glue 2nd tag on top of 1st tag making sure the window is matching.
6. Write saying around the window
7. Use glue pen and outline the colored parts of the distressed tag and around the cutout section. Apply glitter to highlight these areas.
Tag 5 - Purr-fect Pair
1. Cut small piece of thin cork smaller than tag. And glue it to the tag centered.
2. Place 3 felt dots overlapping the left edge of the cork section.
3. Punch out 2 small envelopes, fold and glue to make 2 finished envelopes. Glue onto cork at odd angles to each other.
4. Take 2 Kitty tags, stamp one face only of Winged Kitty on one, and face only of Magical cat in the hat on the other. Write Purr-fect on the lower back of one and Pair on the back of the other.
5. Place one spiral metal clips on each kitty tag and place into envelopes.
Tag 6 - Got Water
1. Attach pre-made self sticking pocket ephemera at a slight angle. This came with two tiny tags. Stamp one with the Frog Prince Mini stamp and the other with the Mercat stamp. Color with markers and place in pocket. Write Got Water along the left side of the pocket.
Finishing:
1. Cut 9 Pieces out of Light weight cardboard stock - 7 are 2-3/8 x11/16” & 2 are 2-1/2” x 11/16. Color the last 2 black.
2. Now use the 2 distressed tag pieces that you laid aside earlier. Cut one 2-3/8 x11/16” out of each,
3. Glue one piece of Light weight cardboard stock to each side of decorated inside tags at left end.
4. Glue the 2 pieces of black cardboard stock to the ends (top side) of the front and back covers. Matching up the edges.
5. Glue 1 piece of the cardboard stock to the back of the 2 distressed pieces. (Centered and flush, along the left edge.
6. Lining along the left edge, glue them to the front side of the front of the black cardboard stock pieces.
7. Using a coordinating lighter ink, edge all of the little wooden alphabet tags. String a piece of the Jute to each of the wooden tag letters T-A-G & adhere with E-600, along the left edge. (Do not overlap into the book section or it will not open properly)
8 . Punch 4 holes (1/8”) through the center of the scallops in the bottom of Magical Dreamer piece.
9. String about a piece of the Jute to the each of the remaining wooden letters B-O-O-K & through the holes in the Magical Dreamer piece& tie in a knot.
10. Glue on front piece of ephemera that coordinates with the front.
11. Using dimensionals place the Magical Dreamer piece into place, at an angle to the front.
12. Punch out 6 tabs. Paint them with metallic fingernail polish, let dry and adhere to the tags, covering hole in each tag.
The Finishing Touch:
On the back of each finished tag write the Name of your artwork/design, date and your name or initials. Or you can decorate it to go with the opposing tag.
The sky is the limit when playing and creating these wonderful works of art.
